May News Print

May will be a busy month as we wind down the Sunday School year.  May 15th will be the Youth Sunday/Graduation service.  This year we honor two high school seniors: Theresa Bender and Joey Pierson.  Steven Ashby will also  be recognized as a college graduate.  Congrats to all!

Sunday, May 22nd will be the last day of classes until Rally Day in the fall.  Many thanks for all the help and support of both the Sunday School and Youth Group.  We've had a great year!

The Way of the Cross

On April 10th the Sunday School classes presented an interactive program to members of the church.  Each of the nine stations of "The Way of the Cross" allows time for reflecting on the events of Holy Week.

We are looking forward to a new and exciting year.  As with the church, we too are undergoing renovaton involving our curriculum.

The purpose of our Christian Education is to create interactions with others as we grow in spiritual awareness and knowledge of God and His teachings.   Our curriculum is Bible based and integrated with various media and activites such as art, music, computer, games, and crafts.

Our goals are:

To share in friendship and fellowship

To provide a safe fun environment for our youth

To engage our children/youth in Scripture

To develop a personal understanding and relationship with God

To develop the practice of spiritual habits

To see our place in His world and seek to serve Him

To involve many church members in the educational process

On Sunday, October 31st, Carolyn Gross our Christian Education Director shared the book "The Pumpkin Patch Parable" by Liz Curtis Higgs to the Sunday School Class as they carved pumpkins for Halloween.  A great time was had by all.  Thanks to Carolyn for putting in so much time and effort to make this a fun day.
